MARRIAGE EVENTS
NAVIGATE
THU, JAN. 9 6:30-8:30 PM in the Forum Lobby
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a man who built his house on the rock.” -Jesus of Nazareth
2024 has come and gone— How did you and your spouse do with living a life that’s increasingly aligned with your values? That’s a tough (but fair) question. What changes do you want to make to take next steps towards aligning your schedule with your values? Are you the husband/wife you want to be, the one in which God desires you to be? What small steps is God inviting you to make in 2025 to grow you more into the likeness of his Son Jesus?
Without a plan of what we want to build - together - we are naturally swept along with the current of our cultural moment. Without pausing to consider who we want to become ten years from now and making small changes in our lives to promote growth, we’ll likely remain stagnant in who we are today. Come be a part of an intentional time for you and your spouse to dream together, pray for God’s guidance and start forming a plan, or Rule of Life, for 2025.
This would be a great event to invite your community or life group to. If someone from your community is able to join you, we encourage you to sit together, because community is great for providing accountability. We have found couples who share their Rule of Life with the people they “do life” with, experience more growth and fruit than those who do it in isolation.
FREE
Childcare is available for only $7 per kid. Sign up/payment for childcare is on registration form. Childcare closes on December 30.
Registration closes on January 7.
MARRIAGE BUDGETING WORKSHOP
SAT, APR. 5 9:30-11:30 AM in Room 200
No more money fights! Work together to tackle your finances and turn a common marriage struggle into a strength.
We have a fun and informative morning planned for you and your spouse that is packed with lots of tools for the two of you to get on the same page and dream together!
A budget is simply a plan for your money. It’s about being intentional before the month begins about how you want to spend your money. It’s a tool to help you achieve your financial and life goals…TOGETHER!
This FREE workshop will teach you about:
- a zero-based budget
- how to use the envelope system (or tracking system) effectively to fit your lifestyle
- the basics of how to start, create and follow a budget
If you’ve never budgeted before, this is the workshop for you as you’ll be introduced to the basics as well as the heart of budgeting. If you’ve budgeted some, but finances are still a source of tension in your relationship, this is the workshop for you as you’ll be given tools and options to help fit your lifestyle. If you’ve been consistently budgeting, this is the workshop for you as it will be a reminder of the importance of what you’re doing and a place of encouragement to keep going! Brad and Kimberly Earnest merge professional guidance with personal experience and examples. They make it simple, relatable, and add in humor to keep the vibe upbeat and chill.
The last day to sign up is Thursday, April 3.
BONFIRE
SAT, OCT. 5 6:00-9:00 PM at Hills & Valleys Retreat (10851 US 63 Columbia, MO 65201)
When’s the last time you snuggled up with your spouse outdoors, next to a warm crackling fire? It’s rest for the soul and for the marriage to find space to just chill and hang out together amongst other couples. This event is always popular as it allows ample time for couples to connect with their spouse in addition to an opportunity to get to know other couples better. Come hungry as we will be serving soup, grilled hotdogs, and gourmet s’mores. Majority of the evening will just be hanging out with each other catching up and forming new friendships. We hope you will join us for a magical night under the stars.
